Good News to Shepherds.

Hi childrens good morning to you all.. I hope you are all enjoying the Bible stories. Today we will learn the third lesson. Read and share it to your friends..

Have you seen shepherds moving ground with their flocks of sheep? It would be exciting to see large number of sheep and goats grazing on green pastures or herd together while moving. The shepherds graze them during the day and take care of them in particular place at night out in the open.

One night, a group of shepherds were taking care of their flock on a hill outside Bethlehem. It was a cold night and the shepherds wrapped their cloaks around to keep themselves warm.

The shepherds had lit a fire. The fire frightened away any lions or bears thet might be around, for lions and bears like to catch little lambs The fire also kept the shepherds warm. The shepherds lay down near the fire to go to sleep.

Suddenly they saw a light in the sky. It was shining very brightly. It was brighter than the flickering fire or the twinkling stars. They couldn't understand what it was. They jumped up and looked around. Then they saw an angel.

They had never seen an angel before and they were frightened. They all knelt on the ground hiding their faces. No one dared to look at the angel. They were all afraid.

The angel said to them, "Don't be afraid! I have come to bring you some good news. Tonight God's Son has been born. He is born in Bethlehem. You can find Him for yourselves. You will know when you have found Him because He has been born in a stable. His mother has put Him in a manger wrapped in swadding clothes".

Suddenly the shepherds saw a great army of heaven's angels in the sky. They were singing a beautiful song to praise God:

"Glory to God in the highest
And on earth peace to men
 On whom his favour rests".

The shepherds listened to their song. They had never heard anything beautiful before. They wondered if they were dreaming. Then the song ended. The angels went away.

The shepherd rubbed their eyes and stood up. No one spoke for a little while. Then one of them said, "Why are we all standing here? we must go straight to Bethlehem. We must find this Baby whom God has told us about". "Of course we must go", said another shepherd. Then all of them agreed to go.

The shepherds left their sheep on the hill side. They hurried to Bethlehem as fast as they could. Soon they came to bethlehem and found the stable where Mary and Joseph were staying. One shepherd went quietly inside. "May my friends and I see your Baby, please?" He asked Mary. "Of course you may", Mary replied.

So all the shepherds went in and looked at Baby Jesus. Baby Jesus was wrapped in swadding clothes and lying in a manger, just as the angel had said. He was very, very tiny.

When all the shepherds had seen Him, Joseph might have asked them "How did you know that a Baby had been born?". Then they told Mary and Joseph what had happened on the hillside.

It was time for them to leave. One shepherd said, "Thank you for letting us see the Baby. But we must go back to our sheep now. We have left them on the hillside". So the shepherds went back to look after their sheep.

They were all so happy that they had seen Baby Jesus. Each one of them thanked God for sending the angel to tell them about the birth of Jesus. To all of them it was a wonderful unforgettable night.
